The technology to observe the invisible is an important technology for us to understand various phenomena. It is well known that ions and bioactive substances play an important role in various biological activities such as brain activity, but the complex network of these substances remains to be elucidated. In order to visualize these bioactive substances and ions in a label-free and real time manner, we have been developing a bio-imaging sensor that can visualize the movement of chemical substances that could not be seen before by integrating CMOS image sensor technology and biosensor technology. In this presentaion, we describe the principle of the bio-image sensor using CMOS image sensor technology and its applications. By using CMOS technology to array biosensors that previously detected chemical information at a single point, we have been able to show the possibility of visualizing the movement of bioactive substances that could not be seen before. The birth of new measurement technology is essential for the development of technology. I am convinced that the visualization of extracellular chemical substances, which have never been seen before, will play an important role in the elucidation of neural networks and as a tool for new drug discovery, and will grow as a technology that supports our health and medical care in cooperation with big data analysis technology.
