This talk will detail our efforts to study and control the electroreduction of CO2 into nanostructured carbons such as carbon nanotubes and present our insights about factors that are relevant to morphology control. In the high-temperature molten salt electrolytes, the role of experimental conditions will be discussed in the context of controlling the morphology of the products. Moreover, the role of this high-temperature approach to CO2 reduction within the broader efforts toward scalable electrochemical CO2 conversion also will be discussed.
