Perovskite photovoltaics (PV) have achieved an unprecedented high power conversion efficiency. Solar panels can be produced via high throughput, solution-based methods, which can be advantageous for accelerating the deployment of solar PV. Whilst perovskite PVs are at the cusp of commercialization, significant challenges still exist, including upscaling and improving operational stability.

To provide a comprehensive overview of the promises and challenges of perovskite PV commercialization, in this tutorial, we propose three lectures covering the industrial development of perovskite PV, field tests and reliability of PV modules, and research & development of perovskite modules.

Nicola Beaumont will discuss commercialization of perovskite photovoltaics.

Joshua Stein will introduce the field tests of perovskite photovoltaics.

Kai Zhu will present perovskite solar module R&D.

The main objectives of this tutorial include:

-              Strategies of commercializing perovskite PV, from both industrial and academic perspectives

-              Developing protocols for perovskite panel field tests

-              Materials and device innovations to stabilize the perovskite PV

Through our tutorial, we expect to establish a sound framework covering all perspectives of commercializing perovskite PV. Our tutorial will also provide the overview of the current status and in-depth understanding of upscaling perovskite PV, which will attract researchers inside and outside the field.
