“It was at this session that I met a recruiter from UES, Inc. and learned about the research that they do in Dayton, Ohio. This interaction led to an interview and later a job offer. I've been working there for 4 months now and am very grateful to the MRS "Meet the New Research Hires" session, which made this all possible!"

"I got the opportunity to meet and talk to professionals from the national lab, universities, and industrial companies. This not only expands my connections but also offers so many possibilities for joining various institutions. The exposure and networking in this session guided me to my current position in a top technology company.”

"This was a perfect opportunity to strengthen my presenting skills as a candidate with feedback from American hires… The personal abstract and CV for the event have been the basis for some of my successful applications for both fellowships and potential mentors. The interest I gained during the event gave me the courage to continue my search and send my CV to many other labs.”

The title and content of the abstract should be reflective of your future goals and career path. Abstract submissions should be less than 1,000 characters and will be provided in advance to recruiters attending the conference. Resources for preparing your abstract and poster can be found at the bottom of this page.
Guidelines for writing an effective New Research Hire Abstract
If your abstract is accepted, you will be expected to present a poster during the session that highlights information typically required in an application package. The number of accepted abstracts is limited due to the event space. Researchers seeking to start a new position in the near term will receive priority.
