Organic-inorganic halide perovskites (OIHPs) are promising optoelectronic and semiconductor materials, but their stability issues under external stimuli impede their practical application and commercial viability. Here we perform high energy electron beam and X-ray beam radiation on OIHP single crystals to investigate their instability behaviour. In situ SEM imaging shows the whole process of cracking on the crystal surface, and in situ synchrotron XRD presents the composition changes for OIHP single crystals under X-ray radiation. We propose a mechanism based on the energy conversion to explain the phenomena of cracking and composition changes. In addition, we conduct nanoindentation tests to study the effects of beam radiation on their mechanical performances which are closely related to their application value.
