Canon Virginia, Inc. is a manufacturer of Canon products in the Americas, and has been exploring opportunities beyond its traditional businesses to solve social, such as the generation of more sustainable bio-based materials.
In recent years one key initiative for new business development has been on developing the business and technology to manufacture and commercialize products utilizing aqueous silk fibroin at scale. In this presentation, I will share about Canon Virginia’s journey of scaling up silk manufacturing for operating at industrial scale . I will also share about our efforts with silk form development for future applications including silk molding technology.
