Participants at this event enjoyed a nice breakfast while getting the opportunity to network with peers and to learn about the newly-launched Diversifying Materials Special Interest Groups (SIG).
Participants heard a summary of the SIG discussions at the 2021 MRS Fall Meeting as well as findings from the recently-conducted underrepresented member needs survey.
Most importantly, they participated in interactive breakout sessions for the following topics:
- Diversity in Academia
- Researchers of Color
- LGBTQ+ Researchers
- UREM Students
- Women in Materials Science and Engineering
- Awards Nominations
