Discover an MRS Community of Science Education and Public Outreach

The Materials Research Society is playing a major role in bringing the education, research and industrial communities together at the 2020 MRS Spring Meeting.

Join us for exciting hands-on activities, demonstrations, information areas, seminars and workshops to engage current and future materials scientists and engineers. Find out how you can participate as we partner to bring the science of materials to the general public, explore the topics of sustainable practices and the impact of society on materials science, education and outreach.

2020 Spring Meeting Events

Many sustainability initiatives focus on technologies that minimize carbon footprint and energy use. In the Designing Sustainability into Materials Research Workshop, you will learn to expand the definition of sustainability to include aspects that limit sustainable materials development, as opposed to sustainable technology development.

In the Real-Life Challenges and Opportunities in Sustainable Product Design Seminar, learn how to incorporate sustainability principles into your research in a more comprehensive way while considering the real-world application of these principles to product design and manufacturing.
