Virtual ACNS 2020

Welcome to the Virtual ACNS 2020!  We are preparing for a great Conference.  Over 275 presenters have confirmed their participation and registration numbers are strong.

All times are Eastern Daylight (EDT). Determine your correct time for streaming events here. Enter Pittsburgh, PA (USA) to see the Eastern Time Zone.

What to Expect

  • All presenting authors (oral and poster) should register for the Conference by Friday, July 3. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED for your virtual presentation to be viewable.

  • The ACNS virtual site is provided by CadmiumCD's "Conference Harvester". This platform includes both the interface for authors to upload their presentations, as well as the interface for attendees to view these presentations.
    • Invited: 30 minutes
    • Contributed: 15 minutes
    • Posters: 10 minutes

  • Invited and Oral Presentations will be pre-recorded to make them available for viewing to the audience. You have the opportunity to add audio to your presentation.   Attendees will hear the audio when they view it.  It's a great way to make the presentation viewing experience for attendees more personal and engaging.   This task can only be done when the presentation has slides uploaded.  You can record the slides in any order (i.e. you do not have to start on the first slide) and you can complete this task for this presentation once each of the slides have an audio recording.  We highly recommend using Chrome or Firefox as your browsers. We do not recommend Safari, as we have noticed audio quality issues when the Safari browser is used.

  • Poster Presentations allows poster presenters to upload slides. You will not be uploading a traditional poster presentation. Instead, you will upload slides for your poster that will have audio recorded over each slide.  There is no poster size. The posters are slides just like the oral, invited, and others. They have a 10-minute limit but can still use just PowerPoint slides as their upload.  When the record is complete, the attendees will see each slide and hear the audio that is recorded for it.  We highly recommend using Chrome or Firefox as your browsers. We do not recommend Safari, as we have noticed audio quality issues when the Safari browser is used.

  • Conference registrants will receive viewing instructions by email on Monday, July 6 (or at a slightly later date for those who register on July 6 or thereafter). Also on July 6, all Invited, Oral and Poster Presentations will be available for viewing. Reminder: No photographs/recordings of presentations permitted.

  • The Conference will include a live, daily broadcast Monday through Thursday, July 13-16.  These interactive broadcasts will begin at 11:00 am (ET) each day.

  • An Award and Plenary Talk is scheduled for each of the four live broadcasts running Monday through Thursday. All Award and Plenary Talks will be followed by a live streaming question and answer period.

  • Invited and Oral Talk Question and Answer Sessions provide valuable opportunities to stay connected and ask questions of authors. Be sure to view presentations prior to the scheduled Q&A sessions so that you can be better prepared with your questions. Every Invited and Oral Talk presenter will include a 10-minute time slot for Q&A.  Schedules are available here »

  • Poster Q&A Interactions are scheduled on Wednesday, July 15, and Thursday, July 16, starting at 6:30 pm (ET).  This is a way to chat with your colleagues.  Present questions to the poster presenters and have them answered in real time.

  • Live-streaming presentations and Q&A sessions will be hosted on Zoom. While Zoom is familiar to many in our community, we know this may pose challenges for certain government participants. We recommend that those individuals plan to join with personal devices.

  • Registration will remain open through Monday, July 27, to accommodate those who wish to view presentations during and after the Conference week. The viewing site will close on Friday, July 31, at 11:59 pm (ET).

Thanks to all of our Committee Members for their help in making this virtual Conference a reality. And thanks in advance to you, our ACNS Family, for joining us. We are excited to remain connected in 2020!
