The Women in Neutron Scattering (WINS) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory are hosting a meeting during the ACNS Conference. The aim is to provide an opportunity for women to reach out and explore common interests and prospects of collaboration.
Historical data show that networking is a necessary ingredient to successful career progression and excellence in research. This in turn supports scientific advancement and understanding.
A discussion will be held to facilitate conversation on the complex balancing act of work and family:
- Stephan Rosenkranz, Argonne National Laboratory, previous NSSA president, will open the discussion.
- Despina Louca, University of Virginia, this year’s NSSA president, will evaluate career challenges of work–life balancing.
- Kate Page, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, beam line scientist and Department of Energy Ofﬁce of Science Early Career Research Program Award recipient, will share her passion for science.
