Impact of Vacancy Complexes on the Nonradiative Recombination Processes in III-N Devices

Shigefusa F. Chichibu has been a professor at the Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Advanced Materials, Tohoku University, since 2007, leading the Quantum Optoelectronics Laboratory. He is also a visiting professor at the Institute of Materials and Systems for Sustainability, Nagoya University. Chichibu received BS (1986), MS (1988) and PhD (1994) degrees from Keio University, all in electrical and electronic engineering. From 1988 to 1990, he was a researcher at Toshiba Corporation, followed by stints through 2007 at the Science University of Tokyo, the University of California, Santa Barbara and the University of Tsukuba, respectively. Chichibu has written 294 peer-reviewed original papers, 106 conference proceedings and 10 book chapters. As of February 5, 2019, his h-index was 52 and he has had 13,780 total citations. He was named Fellow of The Japan Society of Applied Physics (JSAP) in 2017, and has received awards including the first JSAP Young Scientist Paper Award in 1996, and The Commendation for Science and Technology by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in 2010.
